Microsoft to Expand 'Games on Demand' Service

For those who don't know, the Xbox Live Games Marketplace got a makeover recently, including a new name - Games on Demand. Well, it turns out that Microsoft isn't done yet. On December 15th, Games on Demand will come to the Games for Windows platform, giving it the capabilities that it should have had right from the beginning.

Games on Demand for Windows lets you easily purchase and download great titles from the Games for Windows LIVE library right from your computer, and re-install your games whenever you want, wherever you want. Games for Windows LIVE now gives you the flexibility to access and play your games where and when you want, all straight from your PC!

The launch lineup will include recent hits like Resident Evil 5 (Capcom), Red Faction: Guerrilla (THQ), and Battlestations: Pacific (Square Enix), as well as new exclusive LIVE-enabled versions of popular digital games like World of Goo and Osmos, distributed by Microsoft Game Studios. All games can be purchased either by credit card or with Microsoft Points. Games on Demand for Windows will be available in markets that currently support the Games for Windows - LIVE service.

The part of this statement that i find most exciting is that they are going to include this service in the community of Microsoft Points services. Now this currency is really becoming useful. You can use the same exchange rate on Xbox Live, Games for Windows and the Zune Marketplace.

Are you guys interested in this new on demand service from Microsoft, or is PC gaming dead to you and consoles are the only way to go? Let us know in the comments section!
