Verizon's 4G Launches Today, 10GB Data for $80

Today marks the day that Verizon Wireless has activated their fourth-gen LTE network. Verizon looks to launch in 30 cities by the end of the year and give its users a boost of 10x the speed of their 3G EVDO network. Along with the announcement of the 4G switch being turned on, the wireless company also announced its data package for the network, of course, in a tiered setup. You can get 5GB of data for $50 or 10GB for $80.

Want to see the cities and devices compatible? Follow the break.

For devices, Verizon Wireless currently only has two aircards available to work with their LTE network. Smartphones are coming, but not for at least another six months.

So, overall, good stuff coming out of the Hear Me Now camp. Sprint still offers two 4G compatible devices with unlimited data consumption. AT&T doesn't have anything until at least mid-2011 and Metro PCS does have a 4G device... in one city. Oh, and T-Mobile is still lying about even having a 4G network. I even saw some promotional stuff in their store in a mall about having the largest 4G network.
