The Micronauts Might be Lost

We all remember the Micronauts, right? The little action figures that inspired a monthly Marvel print advertisement comic book. Well, the nearly dead franchise might be getting a good old new millennium rebirth in the form of, what else, but a big screen film.
Now, to complicate this in your minds even more, the source of the strangest information about the film comes from The Wall Street Journal, the most trusted source in movie news. Wait, what? Yeah, the Journal was doing a story about how all of the mostly dead franchises of the 70s and 80s have been coming back (such as Transformers) in the form of movies. We knew that. But then they said this:
J.J. Abrams, who created the TV show 'Lost' and directed this summer's 'Star Trek' film, is in discussions to produce a movie about Japanese toy line Micronauts, which Hasbro just acquired.
JJ heading up a project like this is a little odd. He tends to go for big productions, not small ones (couldn't resist the joke, sorry). Although, he did breathe new life into Star Trek, so perhaps he is trying out his newly found Heroes-ish powers to return the dead to life. If ever there was a dead franchise that would take some sort of hyper-evolved superbeing to make money on again, it is Micronauts, so it should be fun to see where this goes (to space?).
